In this article, you will learn how to install and configure the PLAYipp app on a Philips 5051T / 3351T for use with PLAYipp signage or PLAYipp rooms.
- Start the screen and select your language.
- Disable automatic date and time.
- On the page for cloning media files into internal, choose the option “Skip.”
- On the page for signage display settings, choose the option “Skip.”
- Under Security Settings, check the option for Unknown sources installation and proceed to the next page.
- Select the network type and connect the screen to a network.
- When it says the setup complete, click Finish.
- Hold down the button with a square (the top button on the right side of the screen), then press volume down (the bottom button on the same side). (The default password is 1234)
- Click on Apps.
- Click on Chromium.
- Write and open "https://philips.playipp.com/"
- The page will try to identify the screen. If it doesn't, you will need to select the device type from the list manually.
- Tap the message to download our bootstrap app.
- Click on Download anyway
- Click on Open once it is downloaded.
- If you don’t open the file right away, you can access it via the file manager (go back to the main menu > File Manager > Internal storage > Download > Select and open the file “com.playipp.bootstrap”).
- Click on Install.
- Click Open.
- Our bootstrap app will now start and will download and install our apps. Once finished, it will exit the app.
- Go back to the main menu.
- Navigate to Settings > Signage Display > Source Settings > Custom App > Select App. Choose PLAYippLauncher and then click Save.
- Navigate to Settings > Signage Display > General Settings > Boot on source > Input. Choose Custom App and then click Save.
- Restart the screen to launch the app.
- If the media player is activated in the PLAYipp Manager, the content to be displayed will be downloaded and then shown on the screen. If it is not activated in the PLAYipp Manager, an activation code will be shown on the screen.
