How to Connect a Physical Screen to PLAYipp

Once you have created a screen entry in PLAYipp, you need to connect the physical hardware to display your content.

Before you begin

Before you can connect a physical screen, you need to:

• Connect a license to the screen entry in PLAYipp. See our guide here: Connecting a screen to a license 

The physical screen must be prepared with one of the following:

• A correctly installed PLAYport showing an activation code
• PLAYipp's app installed on the screen. See our installation guides for here: How to install PLAYipp 

Using an activation code

1. Note the activation code displayed on your physical screen
   
   
2. In PLAYipp, navigate to Signage
   
   
   
3. Select the screen entry you want to connect the physical screen to (this can be done in both tree view and list view)
   
   
   
4. Click "Connect screen"
   
   
   
5. Enter the activation code shown on the physical screen
   
   
   
6. Click "Connect"
   

The physical screen is now connected to your screen entry in PLAYipp and will display the assigned content.

Using an installation code

If the person installing the screen does not have a user account in PLAYipp, you can send them an installation code via email. They will use this installation code together with the activation code displayed on the physical screen to connect it.

Send installation code.

1. Click on sigange
   
   
   
2. Mark the screen you want to create a code for.
   
   
   
3. Click send connection email
   
   
   
4. Enter the email to the installer
   
   
   
5. Click send Email 
   
   
   
6. On your screen a message with pending activation shall now appear
   
   
   The email should look like this
   
   
   

Connect the screen using the installation code

If you have an installation code and have installed the media player/app on the screen, you can connect the screen.

1. Scan the QR code on the screen or click on this button in the Email
   
   
   
2. Click Use installation code
   
   
   
3. Enter the activation code that is displayed on the screen
   
   
   
4. Enter the installation code from the Email
   
   
   
5. Click activate screen
   
   
   
6. Make sure the information is correct and click yes
   
   
   
7. Success! The screen is now activated and should display content shortly
