Happeo

The Happeo integration lets you display posts from a Happeo channel on your PLAYipp digital signage screens. Both text and images from each post are shown. You can choose to display only announcements, only pinned posts, or all published content from a channel.

What you need

A Happeo API subscription and an API key are required. API keys are created by a Happeo administrator in the Happeo admin panel. The key only needs read access to the channels you want to display.

For details on how to generate an API key, refer to Happeo's own documentation.

Note: Only channels and posts that are visible to the API key will be available in PLAYipp. If a channel is private or restricted, make sure the API key has been granted access to it. Posts must be in the Published state as drafts are not shown.

Add the integration

You can add multiple Happeo integrations to the same PLAYipp account, for example if you need to connect different API keys.

  1. Go to Integrations in PLAYipp.
  2. Select Happeo.
  3. Click Add to PLAYipp.
  4. Enter your Happeo API key.
  5. Click Add Happeo integration.

Once authenticated, PLAYipp will automatically fetch the channels available to your API key and make them available as sources.

Add a source

Each Happeo channel that the API key can access becomes a separate source you can select in PLAYipp.

When configuring a source, the following options are available:

  • Only get announcement posts — only posts marked as announcements in Happeo will be displayed.
  • Only get pinned posts — only pinned posts from the channel will be displayed.

If neither option is selected, the source will display the most recent published posts from the channel.

Note: Author profile images are not available through the Happeo API and will not be shown alongside posts. The Happeo logo is used as the source icon instead.

Display content on a screen

To display your Happeo content on a screen, add a feed widget and select your Happeo source.

Updates

Sources are refreshed roughly every 20 minutes. New posts published in Happeo will appear on screens at the next update.
