PLAYport 4 – Getting started with your media player
PLAYport 4 (PP4) is PLAYipp's next-generation external media player for professional digital signage. Built on Android 13, it delivers crisp 4K playback, modern web compatibility, and a secure, future-proof platform for enterprise environments.
Note: PLAYport 4 is the new generation player and will replace the PPHD player in sales once stock runs out. The PPHD will however continue to be supported.

Installing PLAYport 4
Please note:
Your screen must support 4K for the player to render 4K content.
For installations involving LED screens – always contact presales before installation.

Connect your PLAYport 4
The player needs to be connected to your screen via HDMI and a power source. If you prefer a wired network connection, plug in the network cable now and proceed to Activate Signage Screens. -
Configure wireless network
To use a wireless network, you need to open Network Manager. Connect a keyboard to the player's USB port and press F2 to open Network Manager. -
Select Wireless
Navigate the menus using Tab, the arrow keys, and Enter. -
Select your network
Highlight the network you want to connect to under SSID and press Enter. -
Enter password
Navigate to the password field and enter the network password if required. -
Save the settings
Press F5 to save and close Network Manager.
Next steps - activate your screen
Once the player is connected and has started up, you need to activate it in the PLAYipp portal to start displaying content. Follow the steps in Activate Signage Screens to complete the connection between the player and your PLAYipp account.
Troubleshooting
The screen shows no image Check that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the player and the screen. Make sure the screen is set to the correct HDMI input. Try restarting the player.
The player cannot find the network Check that you are within range of the wireless network. Verify that you have entered the correct password. Try restarting the player and opening Network Manager again via F2.
Content is not displayed in 4K Check that your screen supports 4K resolution. Try replacing the HDMI cable if the issue persists.
